Summer Ball raises over £2000 for local charities.

Organisers of the annual Summer Masked Ball, which took place at Beacon Crag, Porthleven and attracted over 5,000 revellers, have donated more than £2,000 to local charities. Falmouth-based Pants Cancer Charity, Surfers Against Sewage, Lizard CHILD Trust and Porthleven Lights all received much-needed funds to help them achieve their goals.

Porthleven Lights vice-chairman Roger Taft said: “We’re very pleased with the donation from the Masked Ball. The money will help with the renewal programme and installation of new LED lights.

Masked Ball director Kelvin Batt said: “We’re once again delighted to be able to give something back to the local community. At the Masked Ball, we also pledge to support local businesses and services wherever possible when planning and building the event.” Porthleven Lights benefited to the tune of £250, while Pants Cancer Charity received £300, Lizard CHILD Trust were given £500 and Surfers Against Sewage was awarded £1,000. http://www.falmouthpacket.co.uk/news/12929810.Summer_masked_ball_organisers_donate___2_000_to_local_charities/
