Release day is here! We are incredibly excited to announce that Hospitality will be returning to the Halloween Masked Ball. Once again, they will be curating one of our main stages – the Kingsford Venue, providing an earth shattering line up consisting of both internationally recognised and up-coming DnB talent. For those not already in the know, Hospital records are one of the most prolific Drum and Bass labels in the country with releases from High Contrast, Camo & Crooked, London Elektricity, S.P.Y and many many more.
Danny Byrd presents Atomic Funk – Drum & bass icon and king of the dancefloor, Danny Byrd was one of the very first to sign to Hospital at the turn of the millennium. With his unique take on the genre with strong hip-hop and R&B influences ever present in his music, Danny Byrd’s signature mixing style and production flair render him one of the scene’s greats. His new album ‘Atomic Funk’ drops 7th September.
S.P.Y – Throughout his career, S.P.Y. has continuously backed up his stellar releases with fierce skills behind the decks that delight fans and provide an educated blend of old school classics and fresh new beats. S.P.Y has a unique ability to bring his trademark underground sound to a worldwide audience with his tour diary including Australia, the United States, Canada, Russia, Asia, New Zealand and Europe as well as major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Global Gathering and Electric Daisy Carnival. His skills behinds the decks were enshrined in 2015 when S.P.Y. was asked to present his Essential Mix for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1. Fast forward to 2018 and S.P.Y. has truly cemented himself as the “producers producer” through his incredible ‘Alone In the Dark’ EP Trilogy.
London Elektricity – The co-founder and CEO of Hospital Records and sister label Med School, mastermind behind the multi award-winning Hospital podcast, producer and vinyl-only DJ, has been instrumental in the development of D+B as we know it today. Responsible for some of Hospital’s biggest anthems, such as “Billion Dollar Gravy”, “Different Drum” and “Just One Second”, London Elektricity has cultivated a first class reputation as both a producer and DJ and continues to push the genre he fell in love with in the mid 1990s to this day.
Kings of the Rollers – Few artists master a pioneering sound while keeping true to the roots of the craft. A foundation of jungle influences remain rampant in their production and DJ styles whilst moulding a new D+B movement. Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner have become figureheads individually but together they are much more than the sum of their parts. They are Kings Of The Rollers.
Logistics – Logistics grew up on a self-prescribed musical diet made up of equal parts guitar-based compositions down tempo efforts and finally acquired a taste for Drum + Bass through the Full Cycle “Music Box” LP. The younger brother of Nu:Tone, Matt Gresham a.k.a Logistics, has gone on to become one of Hospital’s most prolific producers. Signing exclusively to Hospital in 2004, Logistics worked solidly on creating masterpieces such as “Together”, “Spacejam”, ”The Trip” and “Release The Pressure”. Logistics quickly became known for bridging the gap between liquid funk, which, until then had often been a lacklustre sub-genre and a more exciting, dance floor orientated variety of Drum + Bass. It’s Logistics’ influence that has been picked up by the major DJs in the scene such as Andy C and Friction, and his anthemic creations have contributed greatly to the modern Hospital sound.
Whiney – Coventry-born Will Hine has developed an impressive skill set, successfully carving out his signature sound and passion for drum and bass. With over twelve years spent in choirs, orchestras and grade eight achievements in both violin and piano, it was inevitable that music was going to play a prominent role in Will’s future. After discovering a love for Pendulum and becoming inspired to delve into the world of music production, Whiney had his debut release on Subsphere Recordings back in 2012, an exquisite collaboration with Keeno called the “Sweetest Sin” EP.
Unglued From ravers on the ground to A-list DJ’s in booths and studios, the D+B universe has had one name stuck in their minds, Unglued. First releasing on the 2017 ‘Hospitality In The Park’ compilation with ‘Ay!’, he swiftly upped the levels with ‘Bootstrap Bill’. It’s decimated dancefloors across the globe with spins from the likes of Andy C, Danny Byrd, Randall and Hospital Records’ label boss London Elektricity, as well as receiving widespread support on the airwaves from Metrik, Noisia, Skankandbass and BBC Radio 1’s Rene LaVice. The enigmatic Unglued is also the proud owner of 2018’s most sought after dubplate. His bootleg of High Contrast’s anthem, ‘If We Ever’ has had everyone talking, catapulting him straight into the stratosphere of the D+B elite.
